I’m a newb. How does this work?
Congratulations! Because there is only one you and one ya’ll Yellow Cake Company wants your wedding to be a one-of-a-kind experience and be the sweetest reflection of who ya’ll are. So first things first, we need to know about ya’ll. We like to schedule a consultation, a first date if you will, where we sit down and get to know your likes and all the who, what, when and wheres. We ask that you bring any photos or special objects that reflect your personal taste and style. This could be pictures of your dress and/or tux, veil, flowers, fabric swatches, sample invitations, special jewelry, literally anything. After we get an idea of the general design direction it’s time to eat cake. We will provide you with three flavors for your tasting pleasure to test and talk over with your fiance. Want more than one? No problem! We will be glad to mix and match flavors on individual tiers. Once we have all your style and tastes noted we will provide you with a sketch of a suggested design. And that’s it!
How much does cake cost?
At Yellow Cake Company wedding prices start at $3.75/serving and go up based on the design. Once you have approved all the details we do require a 20% non-refundable deposit to hold your date. The remaining balance is to be paid 2 weeks prior to delivery. There is a $250 minimum on all wedding orders. No changes may be made later than 4 weeks prior to the event date. If you choose to pay with a credit or debit card there will be a 3% fee applied to the total.
Can I get that delivered?
Yellow Cake Company primarily services the Chattanooga, Tn area but will deliver to Atlanta, Nashville and everywhere in between. Delivery to the Chattanooga area is $30 flat. Deliveries outside of Chattanooga are based on mileage. Think you’re too far away? Just ask.
Inside or Outside?
Here’s the thing about buttercream…it’s made of butter. Butter and the Sun have dated off and on for a while now but it never works out. We hang onto that glimmer of hope because some days the sun is mellow and butter can keep it together. But in the end the sun is too overbearing and butter just weeps and turns into a total mess. Haha. Okay, okay. This isn’t to say that your cake can’t be outdoors. We will just need to plan accordingly. Maybe this means a late reception, making sure the cake is shaded, bringing the cake from inside just before cutting, etc. But this is Tennessee so indoors is always recommended…for the sake of cake!
Are you busy that day?
All orders are taken on a first come first serve basis. To ensure availability with Yellow Cake Company booking 8 weeks in advance is recommended for special event cakes, 6-8 months for weddings and other large events. However, prime wedding season books early so don’t mess around and miss your chance. October is trending…
What if I change my mind?
Things change. I get it. And with the bevy of super-hip-awesome images that fill Pinterest everyday there is a good chance you might get some new inspiration after we have come to some design conclusions. It’s okay. Everything is going to be O.K. I allow 1 revision and 1 redesign per order. So if you decide you want to go in a completely new direction…no problem! However, time is money, ladies and gents! So if you still want to explore different paths after the first redesign I will bill at my hourly rate. Also your non-refundable deposit (which holds your wedding date) must be paid before any revisions or redesigns.
What’s your type?
What a silly question. Yellow Cake Company believes EVERYONE deserves a slice or two… or hell, the whole thing! You want cake? We’ve got your cake.
Maybe the most important thing…TRUST YOUR CAKE ARTIST! I want you to relax and let me handle all the sweet details. I know, I know. It’s a big deal. Weddings are a big deal. Yuge! And there are so many decisions and details. But when it comes to cake, I’ve got you. Just give me a little inspiration and I’ll create the cake of your Pinterest dreams. xoxo
